Can you tell us about your early life and what shaped your values?
I grew up in a modest family in Sri Lanka, where values outweighed wealth and character mattered more than credentials. From a young age, I understood that greatness is not inherited; it is earned. My father often said, “Don’t go after recognition. Go after your passion fiercely, faithfully, and fearlessly - and in time, recognition will follow.” Those words guided me long before awards, titles, or global recognition, shaping the way I approach life, career, and impact.
Who were the key influences in your life?
My mother’s influence shines brightest. She is a woman of resilience, devotion, and quiet strength. From her, I learned that kindness is not fragility but a force, humility is wisdom, and strength is steady rather than loud. These values remain at the core of who I am, both as a leader and a woman.
