Can you tell us a little about yourself and your journey so far?
Absolutely. I’m a proud single mother who made the life-changing decision to leave Sri Lanka in 1989 and start a new chapter in Canada. Like many immigrants, I arrived with hope in my heart and a deep determination to build a better future for my children. The early years weren’t easy- I juggled multiple jobs, attended university, and never took a break. I often found myself working three jobs at once while raising my kids and studying part-time. My goal was always clear: to provide for my family and eventually open a business of my own. Every long shift and sleepless night was part of a bigger dream. In 2016, I became a partner in another company, which gave me a taste of what entrepreneurship could look like. That experience gave me the confidence and foundation I needed to take the leap and start my own business in 2019.
