Body massage is a therapeutic practice. A trained massage therapist applies pressure, kneads and manipulates the muscles and soft tissues in your body. There are many types of body massage such as sports massage, Thai massage, Swedish massage, aroma therapy massage etc. The time duration can vary from 20 min – 2 hours depending on the type of massage and areas focused for the massage.

Benefits of a Body Massage:

  • Relieves muscle tension and soreness
  • Improves blood circulation
  • Promotes relaxation and reduces stress
  • Helps with lymphatic drainage, aiding detoxification
  • Can improve sleep quality
  • Supports joint flexibility and mobility

A steam bath is a type of heat therapy. You sit in a room filled with hot steam at a temperature around 40 – 45 C. The moist heat helps to open up pores and promotes sweating

Benefits of Steam Bath;

  • Sweating increases body detoxification
  • Improves blood circulation – helps to bring in oxygen and nutrients to the skin, giving it a healthy glow

As pores are open by steam, it helps to remove buildup of dirt, oil and dead skin cells. Reduces black heads and white heads. Acne will reduce over time. A steam bath has better benefits after a workout or a body massage. Soon after a steam bath your skin becomes softer and it can absorb moisturizers better. This leaves your skin supple and hydrated.

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Stay hydrated before and after body massage and steam baths.
  • If you have health conditions (like heart problems, skin issues, or varicose veins), consult your doctor first.
  • For steam baths, limit time to 15–20 minutes to avoid overheating.
