Overnight Oats Two Ways

Over the years, breakfast has earned a good reputation for being the most important meal of the day! While scientific research backs this statement, our busy schedules make it a tiresome if not impossible task to accomplish. However, there are numerous recipes available online that are not only packed with the nutrition you need to power you through your mornings but are also quite easy to prepare! 
Overnight Oats currently tops this list for many reasons. Now you won’t have to rush in the mornings attempting to whip up a light snack when you can simply prepare your breakfast the night before! And what’s more, oats are packed with fibre and protein to give you the right boost of energy for the day.

Ingredients

Base

  • ½ cup rolled or instant oats
  • ½ cup milk of choice
  • ¼ cup non-fat yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp. bee’s honey 
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla essence 

Apple Pie

  • ¼ cup apples diced
  • 1 tbsp. roasted cashew chopped
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon powder

Choco-Banana

  • ½ banana sliced
  • 1 tbsp. nutella or preferred chocolate spread
  • 1 tbsp. roasted cashew crushed
  • 1 tbsp. chocolate chips

Method

  • In a large glass container, add in all the ingredients and mix until fully incorporated. 
  • Screw on the lid of the glass container.
  • Keep refrigerated for at least 2 hours or overnight. 
  • Preferred toppings can be added during the process of mixing the base ingredients or before serving. 
  • Enjoy a fibre enriched breakfast straight from the glass container the next day. If the mixture seems thick, add milk to dilute.
