October each year is named Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The world uses this special month to bring awareness on Breast Cancer. This year us in Lanka woman wish to draw attention to this because as women it is essential to be aware of this disease, to recognize it early and how to treat it.

What is Cancer?

Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body. Cancer develops when the body’s normal control mechanism stops working. Old cells do not die and instead grow out of control, forming new, abnormal cells. These extra cells may form a mass of tissue, called a tumor. Some cancers, such as leukemia, do not form tumors

What is breast Cancer?

Breast cancer happens when cells in your breast grow and divide in an uncontrolled way, creating a mass of tissue called a tumor. Signs of breast cancer can include feeling a lump in your breast, experiencing a change in the size of your breast and seeing changes to the skin on your breasts.
