What is a Superfood?
Superfoods are high in nutrients and have specific health benefits. They are low in saturated fats and food additives.
Magnesium, Potassium, Vitamin E
Almond milk is low in calories and heart healthy. It contains no cholesterol and only 5mg sodium and 8g carbohydrates per serving.
Niacin, Zinc, Fiber
Spinach is low in calories, high in nutrients. It helps prevent cataracts, some cancers, and cardiovascular disease.
B6, Thiamin, Niacin, Amino Acids
Its antioxidants protect cells against damage from free radicals. Honey also contains oligosaccharides, which increase the number of good bacteria in the colon.
Potassium, Resistant Starch
Loaded with potassium, bananas can lower your blood pressure. It is one of the best sources of resistant starch, a fiber that boosts your metabolism.
Vitamin C, Folate
Just a cup of strawberries contains the daily recommended intake of vitamin C. It also contains folate, which protects your heart. Strawberries also help whiten your teeth naturally.
