The famed establishment “Raja Jewellers” has earned its rightful place as the ‘Monarch of the Gold World’, and as a Director and fourth-generation employer, Ranmini strives to uphold and add value to the shining legacy built on the creative craftsmanship of her ancestors. The landscape of the Gem and Jewellery industry in Sri Lanka and a majority of Asian countries struggle with gender inequality especially concerning female representation in leadership roles, however Ms. Eliyapura stands strong carving a niche for herself with her marketing acumen, creative flair and constant thirst for knowledge. Her dynamic and versatile nature is evident in her ability to wade through everyday complexities of the industry with grace! This month, she joins Lanka Woman in narrating her inspiring story!

Good conversations start at the very beginning. So, without further ado let’s give our readers a little insight into your childhood. 

As a child, you would never catch me buried neck-deep in my studies and channeling my energy towards preparing for examinations scheduled at the end of every school semester. This was simply not my character! Instead, I was known mostly for my outgoing, happy-go-lucky personality. Being a past pupil of Visakha Vidyalaya, my childhood fancies would weigh more towards making memories with my little gang of friends, getting up to bouts of innocent mischief and enjoying the best school life! However, at the end of the day we managed to extract expressions of surprise and sighs of relief from our teachers and parents when we passed our exams well! I also kept myself occupied with many extra-curricular activities in school by joining every club and sport that intrigued me. You could say I was a jack of all trades, but found myself especially good at Tennis and Swimming.
